Patancheru: Stating that all vacant teacher posts would be filled by the start of next academic year, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said officials concerned have already been ordered to submit information regarding the vacant posts in various schools.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Swaer Olympics, second state-level sports meet 2015-16 being held at Isnapur Social Welfare Residential School on Saturday, he said if the right environment for education was provided, the students of social welfare schools could achieve excellent results in education and that proper guidance would make them perform better than those studying in corporate schools.

He said sports were part of education as they create sportive spirit among the students and said Golden Telangana was possible only through students and to achieve it, they need to attain higher education and realise their goals. To reduce the rich and poor divide, the government was coming up with KG to PG scheme, he added. He felt that teachers shouldn’t consider themselves as just employees, but should also treat students like their own children.

He praised RS Praveen Kumar, Secretary, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) for doing a great job in developing the Gurukul schools. He stated that more Gurukul schools would be coming up in the State in the near future.

Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy said admissions into government schools were increasing, and called upon the parents to get involved in strengthening the institutions. He said the District Collector has been taking special care in developing the hostels without any shortage of funds. District Collector Ronald Rose encouraged the students to get selected in national-level sports and excel.

Students from social welfare residential schools across Telangana participated in the Olympics. They performed classical dance and marched along with the Olympic torch in groups. Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, MLCs Sudhakar Reddy and Bhoopal Reddy, Patancheru MLA Mahipal Reddy, ZP chairperson Rajamani and others participated in the event.
