Mahbubnagar: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) students’ organisation has demanded immediate release of scholarships for students of Microbiology Zoology & Chemistry (MZC) branch of Burgula Ramakrishna Government Degree College (BRGDC), located at Jadcherla mandal in Mahbubnagar district.

It is alleged that the MZC students of the BRGDC have not received scholarships for the last five years. An amount of Rs 6.33 lakh is yet to be released by the government for the payment towards student’s scholarships. “During the admissions, the students were asked to pay an admission fee of Rs 3,000 and were promised that it would be reimbursed in the scholarship. But till date, not a single penny has been sanctioned for the MZC students,” said Srinath, convener of ABVP Jadcherla branch.

When enquired with the principal of the college Banala Prabhakar, he ensured that he would take all necessary steps to get the scholarships sanctioned as early as possible. Not convinced with the principal’s assurances, the students raised slogans against him and demanded immediate release of the scholarships.
