Hyderabad: Enthused by the startup initiatives taken by the Telangana government, the tech giant Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella has committed to work hand in hand with the T-Hub in order to develop accelerators and startups.

“Microsoft is keen to work with T-Hub to develop accelerators and startups,” he told Telangana IT and Panchayat Raj Minister KT Rama Rao, who took him around the T-Hub facility created on the IIIT-Hyderabad campus. While agreeing to KTR’s claim that Hyderabad is fast gaining popularity as a startup hub of the country and said the talent in India is dramatically growing in various areas and its dominance is clearly been seen on the field now.

Nadella told the aspiring entrepreneurs to keep always learning from the failures, “…importance of failure lies in what you learn from it.” He added that during his career he always learned from the failures. Nadella’s guided tour of the T-Hub facility by KTR was accompanied by Jayesh Ranjan, IT Secretary and Nasscom's BVR Mohan Reddy among others. Later speaking to the media, KTR said the Telangana government has sought Microsoft’s cooperation in areas like digitization of classrooms and rural connectivity.

"We (both Nadella and Telangana government) have explored several avenues of collaboration, one of which is startup ecosystem. We requested Satya (Microsoft) to participate in building the start-up ecosystem in Hyderabad. He has shown keen interest in that."

Like in Andhra Pradesh, the government also requested collaboration in the white space technology, where the US IT major is pioneer. KTR further said that Nadella had asked the local entrepreneurs to join in the startup initiative along with Microsoft in various areas.

Further, Nadella also assured the government that the Microsoft ventures will participate in the development of startup ecosystem in T-Hub. The IT minister also said they requested Microsoft to engage with the government to provide cloud technology that is useful to small and medium entrepreneurs.
