The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is all set make Hyderabad a pothole free city by December 31. The GHMC Commissioner said that the civic body has indentified about 11,700 pot holes in 9,000 kilometre road in the city limits and filled about 70 per cent of pot holes until now.

The GHMC Commissioner said that the civic body has indentified about 11,700 pot holes in 9,000 kilometre road in the city limits and filled about 70 per cent of pot holes until now.

Janardhan Reddy further stated that the GHMC has been recarpeting about 1,900 kilometre road in the city.

He said that the civic body has already finished recarpeting about 600 kilometre road and would finish remaining at the earliest.

The GHMC Commissioner said, besides recarpeting the roads, the civic body will go in for third party quality check and will collect signatures from the citizens in this regard. He felt that about 50 per cent of problems would be solved if there is proper maintenance for roads and sanitation.
