MLC polls: Counting in Mahbubnagar today
Chief Election Officer Bhanwar Lal held a video conference with the district collector and other officials and directed them to take necessary steps to ensure smooth counting process for the MLC elections on Wednesday.
Mahbubnagar: Chief Election Officer Bhanwar Lal held a video conference with the district collector and other officials and directed them to take necessary steps to ensure smooth counting process for the MLC elections on Wednesday.
He directed the district collector Dr T K Sridevi to strictly follow all rules and regulations stipulated by the Election Commission during the counting process.
As part of this, the CEO asked the district administration to prohibit cell phones, cameras and even pens during the counting by the staff at the counting centers.
After the video conference, the collector conducted a detailed review of arrangements with the concerned district staff and also checked the facilities at the Ambedkar Kala Bhavan, the counting centre for the MLC elections in the district. “We have asked the counting staff to strictly adhere to the election code and directed them to observe carefully while categorising valid and invalid votes,” said the district collector.
