MP Nandi Yellaiah calls on President
Senior Parliamentarian and social activist, Nandi Yellaiah, MP from Nagarkurnool, met President Pranab Mukherjee and submitted a representation. The MP brought to the President’s notice various issues pertaining to SC categorisation, merger of Boyas into ST, defections of leaders from one party to the other etc.
Mahbubnagar: Senior Parliamentarian and social activist, Nandi Yellaiah, MP from Nagarkurnool, met President Pranab Mukherjee and submitted a representation. The MP brought to the President’s notice various issues pertaining to SC categorisation, merger of Boyas into ST, defections of leaders from one party to the other etc.
With regard to SC categorisation, as the State government has already passed a resolution in the State Assembly, he asked the President to direct the Centre to pass a Bill in the Parliament for clearing the path of categorisation of SCs.
Similarly, through the President, he asked the government to merge the ‘Boya’ community into scheduled tribes (ST). At present the ‘Boyas’ are categorised as BC-A. He further brought the issue of unethical defection of leaders from one party to another. He urged the President to direct the Centre to bring in amendments in the Constitution and contain unethical defections.
