TS, AP spar over Vijaya Dairy assets
The Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh governments have locked horns on the ownership of the head office of the Vijaya Dairy (also called as Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Co-operative Federation Limited) campus located in sprawling five acres of land at Taranaka in the heart of the city.

The two states knocked on the Centre’s doors as the Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh are claiming right over the assets which include the milk processing units at the head office. The TS officials said the AP Reorganisation Act had specified that the apportionment of assets should be made on the basis of ‘as is where is.’
The dairy processing units located in the Andhra had already been owned by AP. Since the head office is located in Hyderabad, the TS officials said the assets were owned by the TS. The TS officials said that the AP government may insist on book price of the assets. It meant that the TS government may agree to pay half of what the government in the united AP spent for the purchase of land.
The centre was yet to respond to the petitions filed before the union Ministry of Home. The official said the delay in processing the division of the assets came in the way of development of dairy.
