Warangal: CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy called upon the public to fight against the State and Central governments for adopting anti-people policies. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of disregarding the election promises they made to the people. Both the PM and CM have been engaged in pursuing their personal agenda.

The CPI leader was here on Monday to participate in the 90th anniversary of the party’s foundation. Addressing a public meeting in Hanamkonda on the day, he alleged that the Modi government was supporting corporate forces by promoting neo-liberal policies. At the cost of the welfare of the poorer sections Modi has given subsidies worth Rs 10 lakh crore to the corporate companies.

Acting against the constitutional provisions he was allotting mineral resources to the companies, he alleged. The BJP-led NDA government was trying to suppress the rights of the working class through the Second Labour Commission. Modi failed to deliver his promise to unearth black money and his government was mired with scams, the CPI leader said.

Coming down heavily on the TRS government, he accused Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao of delaying the execution of irrigation projects in the name of projects redesigning. The government was working for the benefit of KCR family while neglecting welfare of the people and undermining sacrifices of Telangana martyrs.

Venkat Reddy found fault with the CM preferring to stay at his farm house and asked him to go into the public and address their problems. He also objected induction of TDP MLAs into the state cabinet and said it was undemocratic. The CPI came into existence in 1925 and played key role in freedom struggle, Telangana liberation and separate Telangana movement.

In the same manner, now the party workers should fight for achieving a socialist Telangana, he added. Earlier, hundreds of CPI activists took out an impressive rally, carrying 90-metre-long red flag, 90 red flags commemorating 90th anniversary, from Thousand Pillar Temple to Public Gardens, where a public meeting was held.
