Guru Gobind Singh birth anniversary held
The 349th birth anniversary of the tenth guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated here on Saturday in a grand manner.
Warangal: The 349th birth anniversary of the tenth guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated here on Saturday in a grand manner.
Special prayers and programmes were held at Gurudwaras situated at Kishanpura Sikhwada and Alankar area in Hanamkonda on the day. Several Sikh gurus from Gurudwara Nanakpuri Sahib of Nanded in Maharashtra took part in the programmes. Speaking on the occasion, they lauded the contributions of Guru Gobind Singh towards protection of Hindu dharma and for the safety of Kashmiri pundits. Large numbers of Sikhs from Gurudwaras across the district took out a ceremonial procession on the main thoroughfares here.
Marking the occasion, the Sikh youth displayed martial arts skills and a mass feeding programme was held. The community leaders Mahender Singh, N Kamal Singh and others were present.
