Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday appreciated the State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited for being numero uno in coal production at national level. Singareni Managing Director Sridhar on Monday handed over a cheque of Rs 66.42 crore, a 51 per cent of share of Telangana State to KCR at his camp office.

Having earned Rs 490 crore profit last fiscal, the Singareni Collieries management offered 51 per cent of share to Telangana State and is to offer the Centre its 49 per cent share to Rs 63.58 crore.

A release from CMO stated that the Singareni Collieries attaomed fresh target of producing 600 lakh of tons of coal during 2015-16 as against the production of 520 lakhs of tons during 2014-15. Giving pat to the officials and workers for their best performance, KCR said the company should focus on taking over coal mines in other places.
