Dichpalli (Nizamabad): District Collector Yogita Rana said that the government schemes could be successfully implemented only if the people’s representatives and district officials work in tandem.
She said that they should cooperate with each other in developing the 78 villages in the Nizamabad district where open defecation was taking place into ideal villages.
Participating in a two-day awareness camp launched for the officials and people’s representatives at the TTDC Training Centre in Ditchpally town on Friday, Rana said that under the Sansad Aadarsh Yojana scheme, Nizamabad MPs Kavitha and BB Patil adopted Kandakurti and Koulas villages in Reanjal and Jukkal mandals respectively and developing these villages with funds worth Rs 20 crore.
She said in ideal villages, magic pits and soak pits were arranged to increase the ground water levels and recharge the dried up wells and bore wells within six months.
The District Collector said that in these villages, the pregnant women at Anganwadies and PHCs were provided with nutritious food under Arogylakshmi scheme, administer vaccination drops and help in deliveries at hospitals.
She said that on February 10, a deworming program would be conducted for children between the age groups of 2 and 9 and medicines would be supplied to all the primary health centres.
Collector Rana also said that in these 78 villages, digital classes were being conducted in schools and books and sports kits were distributed. She said according to the survey of IKP, 1760 disabled personnel live in the district and they would be issued the necessary equipment from February 9 to 12 and ‘Mobile Sadaram Camps’ would be conducting from February 22 to 29 at all the divisions.
If any one could not take the Sadaram Certificate, they urged them to utilise the opportunity, she added. DRDP project director Venkatesham, ICDS project director Ramulu, DMHO Dr. Venkat, DPO Krishnamurthi, BC Corporation ED Sailoo, Horticulture JD Sunanda, DFO Ramesh, MPDOs, people’s representatives and sarpanches were present.
