Khammam: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao must not step foot in Khammam district until the pending bills of students amounting nearly Rs, 203 crore are released, said Communist Party of India (Marxist) district secretary Pothineni Sudarshan Rao here on Friday. The 48 hr hunger strike of Student Federation of India (SFI), launched on Wednesday 12.00 in the afternoon at Dharna Chowk, demanding the release of scholarships and fee reimbursement amounts, concluded on Friday.

Earlier, hundreds of students of various educational institutions held a massive rally from Mayuri Centre to Dharna Chowk. The leaders from various political parties and peoples’ organisations extended their support to the SFI representatives. CPM district secretary P Sudarshan Rao who extended his support to the SFI representatives said that the Khammam people knew very well why Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is coming to the district before elections.

The CM never bothered about the students’ problems and didn’t released the bills which have been pending from 2013, he criticised.Without releasing the pending bills of the students, how could he ask their parents to vote for his party, he questioned. AIAWU state secretary Machha Venkateshwarlu alleged that KCR was showing discrimination against students belonging to ST, SC, minority and BC.

Without releasing the pending bills many of these students are going to miss their studies, he pointed out. ‘Is this the Bangaru Telangana that KCR is wished to see by forcing the students to face lot of problems,’ CPI district secretary Bagam Hemanth Rao questioned. Without releasing bills, without waiving off farm loans, without paying salaries to workers, how KCR is going to achieve Bangaru Telangana, he wondered.

KCR was more interested in making other party leaders to join his party instead of concentrating on solving the public and student issues, he added. CPI-ML (ND) district secretary Potu Ranga Rao, AIAWU district secretary Nunna Nageshwar Rao, ZP co-option member Jiauddin, CPM state leaders A J Ramesh, Ponnam Venkateshwarlu, SFI district president Naga Raju and secretary Bala Raju were present along with others.
