Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao undertook a detailed visit of Khammam town on Monday and directed the officials to take immediate measures to resolve the problems being faced by the people. As part of his two-day visit to the district, the Chief Minister reached Khammam at about 1 pm on Monday.

​Khammam: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao undertook a detailed visit of Khammam town on Monday and directed the officials to take immediate measures to resolve the problems being faced by the people. As part of his two-day visit to the district, the Chief Minister reached Khammam at about 1 pm on Monday. He was received by Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao, ZP Chairperson G Kavitha, MLCs Balasani Lakshminarayana and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy along with District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar and SP Shahnawaz Qasim at Sardar Patel stadium.

The Chief Minister then inspected the Khammam bus stand and observed that it was insufficient to handle the heavy flow of passengers. He directed the officials to identify a suitable place elsewhere for the construction of new bus stand. He also inspected the dumping yard in Danawaiguda and Ramanagutta slum. He assured the local residents that 2BHK houses would be constructed for all the deserving poor people. KCR visited several places in a bus and enroute he interacted with the local residents to enquire about their problems.

He also reviewed the works on by-pass road. KCR inspected the Lakaram lake and said the government has released Rs 13.50 crore for its renovation. The Chief Minister later held a review meeting with the District Collector and heads of different departments on the issues concerning Khammam district. He interacted with the officials on the proposal to construct Integrated Collector Complex. Later he visited various places in the town like SC Colony, Sundaraiah Nagar, Prakash Nagar colony, Srinivas nagar, Shukravarpeta and Khila which lack basic amenities.

The CM assured the women of Srinvas Nagar colony of allotting double bedroom houses, to whom the officials had issued notices to vacate their houses. Meanwhile, following the orders of SP Shahnawaz Qasim, the officials of police department made tight security arrangements during the CM’s visit. They had deployed six DSPs, 19 Inspectors, 51 SIs, 91 ASIs and Head Constables, 552 women and men constables and 186 home guards along with 10 rope party staff and four groups of Special Party police.

KCR will be doing a night halt in Khammam and would visit other places on Tuesday. He will also address a public meeting on Tuesday. MP K Keshava Rao, MLAs Jalagam Venkat Rao, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Koram Kanakaiah, , Madan Lal, former MLC K Koteshwar Rao, DCCB Chairman M Vijay Babu, Joint Collector D Divya, RDO Vinay Krishna Reddy, Municipal Commissioner Venugopal Reddy, TRS district unit president Baig, K Murali and RJC Krishna were present along with others.
