Hyderabad: The Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in execution of the water bodies’ restoration works that were taken up for under Phase-I of Mission Kakatiya. He instructed the officials to complete the works by March 31 during a review meeting that was held here on Sunday.

In the meeting, the minister has reviewed the progress of the works as well as the tender process for the Phase-II of the programme. He asked the officials to conduct field visits to ascertain the work quality before clearing the bills to contractors and also complete the Phase-I works on a war footing.

The minister wanted that the tenders for Phase-II works should be finalised in consultation with farmers and local people representatives to avoid discrepancies in strengthening the tanks. As many as 10,000 tanks will be revived under Phase-II.
