The Nizamabad District Credit Committee has resolved to issue loans to tune of Rs 6,030 crores to farmers and people in the financial year 2016-17. Nizamabad district collector Yogita Rana said that the bankers should definitely reach the target and grant loans to people in-time.
Nizamabad: The Nizamabad District Credit Committee has resolved to issue loans to tune of Rs 6,030 crores to farmers and people in the financial year 2016-17. Nizamabad district collector Yogita Rana said that the bankers should definitely reach the target and grant loans to people in-time.
Addressing the Nizamabad DCC Committee meeting held at Pragathi Bhavan of collectorate, she said that the banks should provide loans to farmers for Kharif and Rabi seasons to ensure that they don’t approach money lenders. She said that bankers should also provide loans to horticulture activities and other schemes.
The Collector said that bankers should establish new village-level branches and set up a bank branch for every five thousand people according to the norms of Reserve Bank of India. She said that the government was paying wages to 2.5 lakhs NREGS workers wages paying through bank accounts and that transactions worth nearly Rs 200 crores were taking place through. She asked the bankers that they immediately recover the loans that have pending from the past three years.
