At a review meeting with his department officials here on Saturday, the Minister asked the officials to provide prior information to people on power cuts due to repair of lines, erection of new sub-stations and other works.

He also exhorted the officials to create awareness among the people on power cuts at locations and restoration timings well in advance. The minister also asked them to get prepared well in advance to cater to growing power needs in summer as February saw the consumption of 45 million units and instructed them to erect adequate number of transformers to provide continuous power supply during summer besides addressing grievances on time.

He also said that increase in transformer capacity and regular inspection of works related to repairs and new sub-stations would prove handy. He felt the need of avoiding inconvenience to the people through frequent inspection and restore power to domestic, agriculture and industry sectors.
