Hyderabad: The Telangana State government expressed its displeasure over the unruly behaviour of the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, V K Singh and directed him to relieve an officer who was forced to work in the State government despite being allotted to Andhra Pradesh in 2015.

Though P Varuna Reddy, the Deputy Superintendent of Jails, who is currently working as the Vice Principal of State Institute of Administration, was allocated to AP, Prisons DG V K Singh did not relieve him for reasons best known to him.

Peeved at the boisterous nature of the Prisons DG, the officer moved the Telangana government with a request to take necessary action. Following this, the government directed the DG to relieve the officer with immediate effect.

The state government in its GO stated, “To the attention of the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, Telangana, is invited to the reference cited and is clarified/requested to relieve DSP Jails, P Varuna Reddy, who was finally allocated to Government of Andhra Pradesh, under schedule X of AP Reorganization Act.”
