Khammam: CPI (ML - New Democracy) top leader Rayala Subhash Chandra Bose died of brain stroke at the age of 70, according to party’s Khammam district secretary Potu Ranga Rao.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Rao said that Rayala, who went underground some 48 years ago, has died of brain stroke. Born to Gopalakrishnaiah and Rambayamma couple at Pindiprolu village near Khammam in 1947 completed his BSc in SR&BGNR College here.

Later, he went underground influenced by the Naxalbary movement in 1967. He joined the Chandra Pulla Reddy faction in 1971. Rayala is the state secretary of the party since 1992. He is survived by Rama Devi and daughter Spandana. The last rites of Rayala will be performed at his native village at 4 pm on Thursday.
