Nizamabad: The students belonging to the Progressive Democratic Student Union (PDSU) burnt the State government’s effigy in front of Nizamabad bus stand in the town on Tuesday protesting against the meagre allotment of funds to the education sector in the Telangana State budget.

Students said that Finance Minister Eetela Rajender allotted only Rs 11,000 crore to the education sector and it was very meagre and insufficient. Sepaking to the media, Sudhakar, State PDSU leader said that State government was neglecting the education sector in Telangana State from last two years and the students were suffering due to the non- release of fee reimbursement amounts and scholarships.
