Prepare policies with action plan: KCR

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday directed officials to come up with concrete plans to improve connectivity in cities that are likely to witness huge employment because of the rapid strides in IT, Pharma and textiles sectors.

"Prepare plans based on traffic projections owing to industrial growth. Besides Hyderabad, the government anticipates a steep rise in traffic in cities like Warangal and Mahabubnagar. Come up with Outer Ring Road plans for major cities and towns that are likely to see huge development," the chief minister said during a review meeting at the camp office with senior officials.

With Hyderabad becoming a favourable destination for international investments, especially the IT sector, he asked officials to prepare policies with proper plan of action that addresses issues arising out of growing opportunities in the state.With several small global companies willing to establish their base in the city, the prime focus of the meeting was to improve road connectivity in the IT growth corridor and textile park in Warangal.

Apart from Bengaluru, Hyderabad is the only viable destination for establishment of IT companies. Referring to the recent cyclone in Chennai, he observed that several companies had recalled their services from the Metro and were likely to divert their investment in to Hyderabad. "All departments must be prepared to assess the increased scope of these companies investing in the city within a short time," he said.

Expressing satisfaction that Genome Valley in the City was attracting huge investments, he said that even T-Hub was showing very good results.IT minister K Taraka Rama Rao, CMO Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao and several other officials were present at the meeting.
