Telangana government is all set to launch its maiden IT Policy at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Hyderabad on Monday. To be unveiled by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan and Infosys Chairman Emeritus, NR Narayana Murthy, the new IT policy aims to double IT exports to Rs 1.20 lakh crore in the next five years.

Telangana government is all set to launch its maiden IT Policy at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Hyderabad on Monday. To be unveiled by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan and Infosys Chairman Emeritus, NR Narayana Murthy, the new IT policy aims to double IT exports to Rs 1.20 lakh crore in the next five years.

Currently, the state has IT exports of over Rs. 65,000 crores that contribute to 16 percent of the national IT exports but the policy will also focus on four sub-policies - Innovation, Rural Technology, Electronics manufacturing and Gaming.

KTR had revealed earlier that the Innovation policy would support start-ups while the Rural Technology is to promote innovation from villages and encourage rural entrepreneurship. The policy will provide free Wi-Fi services to main cities, towns in the state and further focus on Big Data analytics, cloud computing in order to attract investments.
