Warangal: The police personnel should improve their knowledge of computers and internet applications to tackle cyber crimes, said Additional Superintendent of Police John Wesley. Inaugurating a one-day training camp on cyber crimes organised under the aegis of State Intelligence Wing in Hanamkonda on Saturday, the Additional SP said that the police should upgrade their technical skills to face challenges effectively in the computerised modern day world.
He said those with criminal intentions were misusing the modern social media applications as such Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter and hence the police should posses a thorough knowledge of such applications to nab the culprits.
John Wesley stressed on the need to create awareness among the public to be cautious of cyber crimes, which recently have been on the rise. He asked the police personnel to make use of the training session to hone their computer skills to control crimes.
The police personnel, who attended the training, were trained by intelligence wing officials in the latest crime detection techniques, analysing call data in a speedy manner and identifying the criminals.
