Hyderabad: Congress party senior leader and former Minister D K Aruna has made it clear that she will not defect to the ruling party under any circumstances. “I will even become a beggar if the situation arises but I won’t join TRS party,” she affirmed.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Aruna said she would adhrere to political values and ethics. The ruling party was throwing democratic values to the winds, she said and alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was resorting to murky politics by resorting to “divide and rule” politics.

She demanded that her brother and Makthal MLA Chittem Rammohan Reddy, who joined TRS party on Wednesday, resign as MLA immediately. She threw a challenge to KCR to make Chittem Rammohan Reddy to resign and contest again.

She also said her father late Chittem Narsi Reddy was a politician of high principles and democratic values. “My father Narsi Reddy’s soul will weep with Rammohan Reddy’s decision,” she said, adding that Rammohan Reddy brought disgrace to the family by joining the ruling party unscrupulously.
