Nizamabad: District Collector Yogita Rana on Saturday directed the officials to prepare an action plan for the development of Jukkal mandal under the Center’s Rurban Mission. Reviewing the progress of the scheme with the district officials here, the Collector said under the scheme a backward mandal would be identified for development on the lines of towns.

The sub-cluster would be developed with funds from the State and Centre. While the State government would contribute Rs 70 crore, the Centre would release Rs 30 crore for the development of the backward mandal. She suggested that the action plan should include digital warehouses, school buildings, digital teaching facilities, Indira Jalaprabha, poly houses, tree guards for Harita Haram, rural roads, Anganwadi Centers, rural panchayat buildings, sheep and goat rearing units, Streenidhi and so on.

Provide water supply to schools
Later addressing officials at Pragati Bhavan, the Collector directed the officials to respond to the complaints received under Praja Vaani and on toll-free numbers. She said that 393 complaints under the Praja Vaani remained unresolved. She wanted personal scrutiny of letters being forwarded from sections. She warned officials of action if they failed to attend the meetings.

Under the Mission Bhageeratha, as many as 121 villages would get drinking water in June and 141 in December. In this context, she asked officials to ensure schools in those villages get water supply. If there were no washrooms in schools, they should be built immediately.

All schools should have rainwater harvesting structures, besides kitchens, computers, laboratories, libraries and kitchen utensils. She asked them to impart training to midday meals scheme agencies to implement the programme. She asked them to get the school grounds levelled and vegetable saplings planted.
