Hyderabad: On the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, MMTC (Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation) Limited, a Government of India Enterprises has organised an exhibition-cum-sale of gold jewellery, Indian gold coins, MMTC gold & silver medallions and Sanchi silverware at their showroom in SD Road in Secunderabad.
The MMTC in a press release on Saturday said the Indian gold coins were of 24 karat purity, 999 fineness and has the national emblem engraved on one side and the face of Mahatma Gandhi on the other. Currently, the coins are available in denominations of 5, 10 and 20 gm bullion.
The coins have advance anti-counterfeit features to protect consumer interests and are tamper-proof packed. Minted by the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited and hallmarked by the Bureau of Indian Standards, the World Gold Council has been marketing to create awareness about the coins.
The gold and silver medallions/bars are ranging from 1 gm to 100 gm in gold and 10 gm to 1 kg in silver and the silverware. The coins would be available in MMTC showrooms and all branches of Indian Overseas Bank.
