
The Palair Assembly constituency in Khammam district is all set for by-election on Monday. A total of 13 candidates, including nine Independents, are in the fray after Congress MLA Ramreddy Venkat Reddy passed away in March this year.Â
Hyderabad: The Palair Assembly constituency in Khammam district is all set for by-election on Monday. A total of 13 candidates, including nine Independents, are in the fray after Congress MLA Ramreddy Venkat Reddy passed away in March this year.
There is a triangular fight for the seat with ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Congress and CPI (M) testing their fate. TRS has fielded Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, while the Congress has named Venkat Reddy’s wife Sucharita Reddy as its candidate.
The CPI(M) has fielded P Sudarshan Rao. There are 243 polling stations in the constituency, and 1,90,351 eligible voters would cast their ballot. The elections would be held from 7 am to 6 pm and the results would be declared on May 9.
