Heatwave conditions prevail in Adilabad, Karimnagar districts

Hyderabad: Heat wave conditions prevailed in Adilabad and Karimnagar districts during the last 24 hours ending 8.30 am on Sunday. The Met office said there was an appreciable raise in the day temperatures at one or two places in the State.

The highest maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Ramagundam. The temperatures recorded at other places in the State are: Adilabad 45, Nizamabad 44.2, Khammam 43.4, Hanamkonda 43.2, Bhadrachalam 42.1, Hyderabad and Nalgonda 42 each, Medak and Mahbubnagar 41 each, and Hakimpet 40.2.
However, rain occurred at isolated places late in the evening in Telangana, with Kosgi and Parigi receiving 4 cm of rainfall each. There was 2 cm of rain each in Bhadrachalam, Burgampadu, Damaragidda, Gundala, Pinapaka. The Met office warned that thunderstorms with squall are likely to lash isolated places in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Nalgonda, Medak, Mahbubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad and Khammam districts on Monday. The Met office said a low pressure area over equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal has become well-marked and lay over south-west Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka. The associated upper air cyclonic circulation is persisting. The system is likely to move northwestwards and concentrate into a depression during the next 24 hours. It is likely to continue northwestwards and further concentrate into a deep depression and cross the Tamil Nadu coast between Pamban and Nagapattinam on Tuesday morning.
The upper air trough from Vidarbha to Rayalaseema across Telangana is also persisting. As a result, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Telangana from Tuesday to Tgursday.
Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimanagar and Khammam districts. Thunderstorms with squall are likely to lash at isolated places in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Medak, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad and Mahbubnagar
districts.
