No helmet, no petrol

Adilabad: The rule, not to provide petrol to two-wheeler drivers without helmets will come into force in the district from June 2, the State Formation Day. District Collector Jaganmohan took this decision, after an official inquiry revealed that most of the 140 deaths of two-wheeler drivers in 2015-16 were the result of head injuries caused by not using helmet.

Stipulation for two-wheeler drivers comes into effect today

Of the 248,410 two-wheelers in the district, thousands of their drivers have been found not using the head protection. This decision of the district administration was taken after holding meetings with RDOs of five revenue divisions and the petrol bunk-owners, MVI Kishore Reddy told The Hans India.

He warned that cases would be registered against the two-wheelers found not using helmets. The Revenue and RTA officials are making special arrangements to sell quality helmets at petrol bunks.
