Khammam: Even in the times of tech-savvy generation, people go agog for the lookalikes, especially when they are film stars or the popular leaders. Mogili Raja Ramesh, whose face is strikingly similar to that of TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, has become the cynosure of all eyes here at the second-anniversary celebrations of Telangana State Formation Day.

The 28-year-old Ramesh of 7-Incline Colony near Kothagudem, who lives in Hyderabad in quest of livelihood, is a huge fan of KCR. While working as a contract make-up man in the Ramoji Film City, he participated in the Telangana Movement for over six years. Due to the fact that KCR enjoys an unchallenged popularity in the region, Ramesh has always received a huge roar whenever he appeared in statehood meetings.

The hallmark of this man is that he always participated in the programmes of separate statehood agitation, voluntarily. He tried to connect people waving hands just as KCR used to. Though Ramesh connected well with the people as KCR, he also appeared in about 30 getups such as former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Mayala Fakir, Bhadradri Ramudu etc. with a bit of mimicry to avoid monotony.

Besides this, he also used to play flute in the meetings. Although he acted in a few films – Tummeda, Search, Yuva Nayakudu and Okkadito Modalyndi, currently, he is working as a make-up man for a few television serials. Talking on the sidelines of cultural programmes of the Formation Day, Ramesh told “I am a diehard fan of Telangana and KCR.

The TRS chief patted me quite a few times before and after the State formation. I even worked for the TRS in the election to the Khammam Municipal Corporation and Palair by-poll.” People jostled with each other to have a selfie with him during the celebrations.
