Hyderabad: In yet another significant move, the State government has decided to further simplify the building permission in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. It has decided to incorporate approved layouts in the HMDA limits with the integrated master plan.

Besides this, the State government has decided to link the civic body's Development Permissions Management System (DPMS) for giving online buildings permissions. According to the GHMC officials, as per the directions of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao, both the GHMC and the HMDA have decided to simplify the building permission in approved layouts in city limits.

He said by incorporating approved layout plans in the integrated master plan and linking it with the GHMC's DPMS would help citizens to receive building approval in 15 days. The GHMC officials also added that the State government had asked both the GHMC and the HMDA to seek clarification from experts regarding integration of all notified master plans and zoning regulations in this regard.

A senior GHMC town planning department official told The Hans India that the change in land use permission would be phased out from building permission process and the applicant can directly seek permission to constructing building in the approved layouts, since it had been linked with the DPMS.

However, he said, whether the approval or denial, within 15 days the applicant would be informed about the status of the application. The application status would be informed from time to time by SMS and would also be displayed on the both GHMC and the HMDA official websites, whichever is concerned.

The town planning official said this system would not only ensure transparency but also make sure that officials did not delay or deny permissions without a valid reason. The GHMC official further said that starting from Monday the civic body would receive only online layout permission and building permission applications. He stressed that the GHMC would not receive any applications manually.

Meanwhile, the HMDA has already stopped receiving applications in hard copy from May and permissions for buildings (residential, commercial, mixed use), layouts, change of land use, etc should be obtained now only online by logging on to www.hmda.gov.in website.
