Hyderabad: Uncertainty looms large over the shifting of Andhra Pradesh Secretariat employees to Amaravati. Different views are being expressed by staff about moving to temporary Secretariat in the new capital. In fact they are reportedly divided into two groups on the issue.

One group has already announced that they have no objection to move to the new place before the stipulated date of June 27, if government announced guidelines for the shifting.

While other group, wants the government to defer the shifting for 10 months, since works are incomplete and basic facilities are not in place.

President of the AP Secretariat Employees’ Association (APSEA) Muralikirshna criticised the government for failing to announce a road map for shifting of the staff. We are ready to go to Amaravati as per the government directive
he said.

He appealed to his colleagues not to trust rumours that the staff was against shifting. Some employees who were not willing to leave Hyderabad were spreading such rumours he
alleged.

On the other hand, the AP Secretariat Gazetted Officers’ Association has a different take on the shifting.

Its president Krishnaiah accused the APSEA of failing to take the issue to the notice of the government. We have been fighting with the government regarding issues like nativity HRA education needs of employees children etc. He alleged that the APSEA president was misleading the government on these issues.

However, Krishnaiah made it clear that all employees were ready to move to the new Secreatariat in the course of time.
Meanwhile, employees are allegedly dilly-dallying over shifting as construction of the offices is yet to be completed and basic infrastructure is yet to be provided at Velagapudi.

Venkatarami Reddy an employee, suggested that the government should postpone the shifting of the staff by 10 months because of incomplete infrastructure and lack of other facilities.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s recent visit to Valagapudi and his statement on shifting of the employees in phased manner has become the hot topic of discussion among the staff.

They recalled that the government promised to set up a help desk in the Secretariat but nothing has been done so far. In the place of the help desk the employees have been urged to submit requests in the CM’s peshi so that they can be addressed.
The employees are hopeful that all their problems would be solved as early as possible for their smooth shifting.
