Khammam: In a bid to support the Prof Jayashankar Badi Bata programme, the speakers urged the people not to fall prey to the guiles of the managements of private schools.

Taking part in the Badi Bata programme held at Kothuru primary school in Khammam Municipal Corporation area on Thursday, the 13thDivision corporator, Alla Nirisha Reddy and Rajiv Vidya Mission (RVM) community mobilisation officer D Pullaiah tried to instil confidence among the people saying that many great personalities and officials who occupied prominent positions in the society actually studied in government schools.

Nirisha Reddy said that state-run schools are competent to provide education on par with the corporate entities and people need to come out of the illusion created by the private school managements. She underlined the need for promoting state-run schools which are on the verge of closure following low enrolment of students. She tried to drive home the message that the results produced by the government schools in competitive exams.

Pullaiah advised people not to fall prey to the attractive advertisements of the private schools and end up in debt trap. He sought the support of intellectuals, people representatives and village elders in increasing the patronage in state-run schools.

Village elder Mandadapu Brahma Reddy said that government schools are spacious and are being run by competent teachers, hence people should not have any doubt to join their wards. Headmaster Devarakonda Saidulu and others were present.
