Nalgonda: District Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy directed the officials to get ready with proper plans for mass saplings plantation drive under Haritha Haram programme in the district in next month.

On Saturday, he conducted a review meeting on Haritha Haram at the Collectorate meeting hall. He said as per the government directions, the district administration decided to plant 42.92 crores saplings this year under the programme.

Hence he told the officials to prepare comprehensive reports for mass plantation in the district on July 11.

They were also told to render department-wise statistical report of saplings needed by Monday and to submit a report on the availability of saplings in various nurseries in the district.

The Collector ordered forest and rural development department officials to pay special attention to complete the pits digging works at the earliest. The collective efforts of all departments and involvement of all sections of the public only could ensure the success of the government flagship programme Haritha Haram.

Joint Collector Satyanarayana, DRO Ravi and other officials participated in the meeting.
