​Mancherial Adilabad: Yoga practice is being organised for the Singareni Collieries staff following orders issued by CMD Sridhar to mark the International Yoga Day, after officials made ‘pucca’ arrangements under the scheme ‘Mee Arogyam Kosam’.

Many employees and their families in Bellampalli, Mandamarri and Srirampur divisions are participating in the daily yoga practice, as it helps them overcome stress and control ailments like diabetes, blood pressure, said Ramaswamy, a miner and Raji Reddy, yoga trainer.

A ‘Run for Yoga’ is being organised on Tuesday to mark the International Yoga Day in Naspur and Srirampur Colonies. About 10,000 workers are expected to participate in the events. Competitions among those who have undergone yoga training are to be organised and prizes given to the winners, according to Subhani, GM, Srirampur division.

Ramesh, mine manager, stated that many workers wanted the training to continue. Efforts would be made to continue it after consulting the officials concerned, he said.
