TPCC observes Anti-Terrorism Day; says KCR is playing mean politics

Hyderabad: Alleging that the Narendra Modi government was trying to defame the Congress with vengeance towards Gandhi family, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy asserted that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was practicing mean politics by purchasing democratically elected public representatives of other political parties with tainted money.

Addressing a meeting organised on the occasion of conclusion of one month long Anti Terrorism Day programme at Jeedimetla in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Uttam said that Chandrashekar Rao’s allegation that the Congress had tried to dethrone the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government was a big lie. He said the people would teach a fitting lesson to both the BJP and the TRS.

Speaking on the occasion, all India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary RC Kuntia said the people of the nation were using state-of-the-art technology just because of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s vision. Several nations had become friendly with India due to Rajiv Gandhi’s foreign policy but friendly nations like Nepal and Srilanka were depending on other nations due to Narendra Modi’s policies, he said.

He reiterated that the Congress would come back to power at the Centre and in the State in the 2019 elections under the leadership of AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi. He said Rahul Gandhi had foiled the attempts of Prime Minister Modi to stop the MGNREGS. Former Union Minister Sarve Sathyanarayana alleged that the TRS government had not given a single job to the unemployed youth so far.

He described the Congress leaders who joined the TRS as ‘waste fellows’ and alleged that the TRS was winning elections by tampering with EVMs. Former Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said the nation could stand in the first place if Rajiv Gandhi were alive. The history of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv was a model for the future generations, she opined, and called upon the Congress cadre to walk under the ideals of Rajiv Gandhi.

Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao said his relations with Rajiv and Indira Gandhi was unforgettable. He alleged that the present State and Central governments did nothing to the people except making tall claims and statements. MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, former MLA Kuna Srisailam Goud and several other party leaders participated in the meeting.
