Hyderabad: State Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said that there are several differences in the functioning of the general administration department of the executive branch and the functioning of the legislative bodies.

Hence, taking note of specific needs of the legislature, the CRDA has to take steps in the construction of the temporary legislature buildings at Velagapudi.

The Speaker’s observations have come during a meeting with CRDA officials here on Tuesday. He said that the temporary arrangement should not be just constructing a legislative building. But, it should have the environs for the functioning of about 200 employees of the Assembly, he added.

Further, the Assembly and Legislative Council are both going to be located in the same building. The sessions of both the Assembly and Council would take place at the same time, and the arrangements should be made to ensure that the functioning of both go smoothly without any hitches.

Discussing the draft plan of the temporary legislative buildings at Velagapudi with the CRDA officials, the Speaker said, “Despite they being temporary arrangements, all necessary provisions should be made for the smooth functioning of the sessions.”
