Speaking to the media at Yellareddygudem village under Maripeda mandal in Warangal district on Tuesday, the Minister said that earlier, no Thanda in Palair constituency had road connectivity.
Khammam: In all, developmental works to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore will be initiated in Palair Assembly constituency, said Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.
Speaking to the media at Yellareddygudem village under Maripeda mandal in Warangal district on Tuesday, the Minister said that earlier, no Thanda in Palair constituency had road connectivity.
Since I got elected from Palair seat, I have taken care of constructing BT roads (77 kilometres) to 43 Thandas with an outlay of Rs 57.60 crore,” he said.
The Minister said that in all, Rs 125 crore were earmarked for laying of roads 140 km-long in Kusumanchi, Tirumalayapalem, Khammam Rural and Nelakondapalli mandals. Once these works were completed, no village in Palair constituency would be without road connectivity, he added.
He said that this apart, 60,000 acres of land would be brought under irrigation through Bhaktha Ramadasu Lift Irrigation Scheme (LIS), the Minister said, referring to the progress of pipeline works and intake well construction under the LIS.
Stating that villages of Thirumalayapalem mandal were under the Warangal Grid of the Mission Bhageeratha, Tummala said these works will be completed by the next summer.
In all, the Minister laid foundation stones for the developmental works to the tune of Rs 18.65 crore. This includes inauguration of additional classrooms at a junior college in Pindiprolu, built at a cost of Rs 51 lakhs.
Dornakal MLA Redya Naik, SC Corporation chairman Pidamarthi Ravi, Zilla Parishad chairperson G Kavitha and MLC Balasani Laxminarayana were among others present.
