Mulug (Warangal): The TPCC vice-president, Nandi Yellaiah has advised Congress party workers to make serious efforts to strengthen the party at grassroots level.

The party leadership will recognise the services of the workers striving for the growth of the party. Though a few leaders have left the party for their selfish needs, the base of the party was intact and the public were aware of the Congress contribution in the formation of the state of Telangana, he said.

Addressing a gathering at the party’s extended executive meeting of Mulug Assembly constituency at Mulug on Saturday, he said only Congress could ensure the development of SC/ST/BC and minority communities.

The welfare measures that were introduced and implemented by previous Congress governments have to be explained to the people while extensively propagating failures of the TRS government, Yellaiah told the workers.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao failed to deliver election promises during his two year’s rule. During the period he spent his time misguiding the public with jugglery of words while neglecting promises like double bedroom houses, three acre land to dalits and others, free KG to PG education to all, he criticised.

He stressed on the need to set up village and mandal committees towards reconstruction of the party. The Congress with history of 135 years would emerge victorious in the elections in the days to come, he hoped.

The party district president N Rajender Reddy, former minister P Balram Naik, former MLA P Veeraiah, BC Cell district president K Srinivas, ST Cell district president B Naveen Naik, senior leaders EV Srinivas Rao, M Ram Reddy, M Sarangapani and others were present.
