Hyderabad: Stating that the city has become a centre for terrorist activities, Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday suggested to the Telangana State government to strengthen its counter-intelligence mechanism.

Talking to mediapersons after a review meeting with senior police officials, including home secretary Rajiv Trivedi, incharge DG Anjani Kumar and Police Commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad, Dattatreya said that a major mishap was averted with the arrest of the alleged ISIS-linked accused, all because of the coordinated efforts of Central and State forces.

Replying to a question on innocent Muslim youth being harassed as claimed by MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Dattatreya said neither the people nor Muslims would believe this.

“All State governments have to extend their best cooperation to the Central government in playing its role to curb terrorism. Education alone will help in destructing anti-development and anti-social forces,” he said.

Condemning the terrorist incident in Dhaka, The Union Minister expressed concern at the killing of foreigners in Dhaka and reiterated that terrorism has no relation with religion and should not be linked to religion at all.

Terrorism only ends humanity and therefore all human beings in the world should cooperate with each other in ending terrorism.
There is no scope for terrorism in this world nor should any sympathy be extended towards it.

Those who desire the development of this country should condemn terrorism," he said.Replying to a question, Dattatreya said that he had not asked for any additional security cover to the party leaders.
