Hyderabad: With Krishna Pushkarams round the corner and increasing incidents of crimes on trains, South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Ravindra Gupta has called for better coordination between Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) to ensure security by preventing crime o¬n trains and at railway stations.

He was reviewing security measures at a high level co-ordination meeting between GRP and RPF at Rail Nilayam here on Friday.

The meeting stressed on frequent exchange of data base of criminal gangs indulging in offences against passengers and discussed the security arrangements and a strategy for crowd management for the ensuing Krishna Pushkarams.

Joint operated electronic surveillance control rooms by RPF and GRP at major stations and exchange of visual data between RPF, GRP and police was felt essential in ensuring passenger security.

Additional General Manager AK Gupta was also present, RPF Chief Security Commissioner Sanjay Sankrityayan, Additional Chief Security Commissioner (RPF) GM Eswara Rao, ADGP (Telangana) Krishna Prasad and other officials representing the GRP of the respective states falling under the jurisdiction of SCR also participated in the meeting.
