Nalgonda: The district police have cracked the recent robbery case where Rs 32 lakh was estimated to be stolen. The police came to the conclusion that a staff member of cash loading organisation in the ATM centres was the main culprit in this crime.

On Monday, after the incident, the staff members Sunkaraboina Nagaraju and Chintha Srinvas lodged a complaint in Munugodu that two unidentified miscreants attacked them at Kompalli village and decamped with cash worth Rs 32 lakh. After examining the scene of crime, police expressed several doubts about the incident.

On the directions of the District Superintendent of Police Prakash Reddy, the Chandur Circle Inspector Ramesh Kumar took up the investigation with the help of dogs and bomb squads.

As part of their investigation, they interrogated one of the staff members, Nagaraju who was carrying the cash and going on a two-wheeler along with his colleague Srinivas to load it at an ATM centre located at Gattuppal.

During interrogation, Nagaraju failed to answer properly about the mode of offence and the statements given by him were contradictory.
Moreover, Nagaraju avoided the regular route and loaded the cash at Munugode ATM centre.

The police became suspicious and on tactful interrogation, the accused Nagaraju confessed to have committed the crime with the assistance of his close friends Mogudala Ganesh and Bommagani Giri of Narsingbatla village in Nalgonda mandal.

Based on the information provided by Nagaraju, the police raided the house of Mogudala Ganesh house located at Reddy colony in Nalgonda. They arrested the accused Ganesh and recovered Rs Rs 35.55 lakh from him. The police stated that another accused Bommagani Giri was still at large whereas the colleague of the accused Nagarju, Chintha Srinivas was declared as innocent.

On Tuesday, SP Prakash Reddy disclosed the details of arrests and whole episode of the robbery to the media at a press conference held at district police office meeting hall in Nalgonda.
