Government working for rich only:Bhatti Vikramarka

Vikramarka claimed that while the Congress governments had provided nine commodities under the PDS to people, the TRS regime was offering only rice. Uniforms were yet to reach students in government schools, “indicating how much the government loved the people”. He accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of “forgetting his promise of proving jobs to youth, after assuming office”.
Bonakal (Khammam): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday accused the State government of working only for rich and influential people, instead of the general masses.
Addressing a press conference at Ravinuthala village in the mandal, the TPCC leader alleged that the government was sanctioning crores of rupees for welfare schemes with a motive to benefit contractors and the rich. He said the prospective beneficiaries of pending Indiramma houses were in distress following non-release of payment to contractors.
The Congress leader said pensioners were suffering as the amounts were not reaching them on time. “The prospective beneficiaries from SC, ST and BC are disappointed as their sanctioned loans are yet to be transferred to their bank accounts”.
He contended that the farm loan waiver scheme had not been fully implemented, while accusing the government of resorting to publicity, instead of administering the State, in the process misleading the people making false claims.
Vikramarka accused the ruling party of prevailing upon the police to register false cases against some Congress leaders and harassing them, with a view to force them to join the TRS. He warned officials to change their attitude, as they have to work for people’s welfare and not the party in power.
Later, he convened a mandal-level party meeting. Among those present were DCC President Aitham Satyam, women’s wing chief Bandi Mani and leaders Subbalakshmi, mandal leaders Kethineni Venkaiah, Paidipalli Kishor, Gali Durga Rao, Tammarapu Venkateswarlu, Pillamarri Nageswara Rao, Banoth Srinu and Arlappa.
