Hyderabad: Frustrated at the weakening of his party further in Telangana in the recent months, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu has asked all leaders, including president and working president of the Telangana unit, to ‘Perform or Perish’.

Naidu held a marathon meeting with the party’s Telangana unit leaders at the Lake View guest house here and placed before them, reports prepared by the party on the performance of each leader and enquired about the hurdles being faced by them to revive the party.

The reports disclosed that T-TDP (Telangana) President L Ramana and Working President A Revanth Reddy too were lagging behind in achieving the goals set by the party. Naidu told the party leaders that the only option before them was to work hard for the revival of the party before 2019 elections.

Since the party has already been maintaining cadre in every village in Telangana, the only major challenge before the leadership is to galvanise people and fight against the anti-people policies adopted by the TRS government. As the Congress was also losing its sheen in Telangana due to leadership crisis, Naidu informed the leaders that TDP could emerge as an effective alternative.

According to a senior leader, Naidu asked the T-TDP leadership to take independent decisions henceforth. The TDP chief allayed leaders’ apprehensions that the Telangana unit had been neglected, making it clear that he would not leave Telangana and was monitoring party activities regularly.
