Hyderabad: BJP State unit president K Laxman on Wednesday alleged that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was implementing the agenda of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM).

The BJP president was speaking during the signature campaign taken up by the party against MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for his statements of legal aid to the terror suspects arrested by NIA at Dilsukhnagar in the city.

Laxman said Hyderabad should be liberated from the hands of MIM and the people of the city should be saved from the MIM atrocities. “We are taking signatures demanding a ban on the MIM to save Bhagyanagar. We will submit the signatures to the Governor.

One third of the State population lives in Hyderabad. It is a mini Bharat and people irrespective of religion, caste and creed live here. We all should strive to save Hyderabad,” said Laxman.

Alleging that the TRS was adopting a soft stand towards the MIM, Laxman said because of this reason the MIM atrocities were on the rise.

He said, “Even the Maharashtra State Election Commission banned the MIM. Other State governments are also banning the MIM leaders from campaigning in their States on charges of flaring religious tempers.

He lashed at the TRS for aligning with MIM. He said the MIM had never supported Telangana but after the formation of the separate State, the TRS was having alliance with the MIM.

He also targeted the government for not celebrating the Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17.
