Hyderabad: Patients at Gandhi Hospital had to face severe problems as the hospital witnessed 3-hour power disruption in the evening.

What was worse is that even the generators failed to work and patients had to face hardships in darkness.

Even ambulances which had brought patients to the hospital in emergency condition had to take them to other hospitals.

According to patients, the hospital had been witnessing intermittent power failure throughout the day on Friday.

Hospital authorities blamed the works being undertaken by the TS Transco.Hospital administrators said that the feeder work by the TS Transco had been going on for the last few days and the issue is solved and there would be no more power cuts now.

Administrators said that they were helpless as it was not in their hands to control the power cuts. Laxman Rao, a relative of a patient said that power cuts every hour in the main IP block were witnessed throughout the day. In some blocks there was power failure for almost three hours.

In addition to the power woes, the generators too failed to function. Angry patients stormed the office of the superintendent but were not allowed to meet him.

Some patients who were aged had problems. Madhava Rao, an attendant, said that elderly people suffered a lot as they could not turn on the fans.

Senior doctors, however, said that things would get under control in the next 12 hours as officials from TS Transco said that the work was almost complete.
