Nearly 76 minor children in Bihar state were taken into custody by police department Anti-human Trafficking Wing of Police department here on Saturday.

Warangal: Nearly 76 minor children in Bihar state were taken into custody by police department Anti-human Trafficking Wing of Police department here on Saturday.

In a joint operation by anti-human trafficking wing and government railway police (GRP), the children were found travelling in East Coast Express bound to Hyderabad from Howrah in West Bengal.

Six elders who accompanied the children claimed that the children were going to join Madrasas.

The police suspected that the children were being taking to Hyderabad to engage them in labour on the pretext of joining them in the Madrasas.

Anti-human Trafficking Wing In-charge D Srilaxmi said they acted on a tip off from the ICDS officials.

The children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee and shifted to Juvenile Home.
