A few incidents of high-handedness against traffic police have been reported during a special drive taken up by them in the city during the last few days. 

Nizamabad: A few incidents of high-handedness against traffic police have been reported during a special drive taken up by them in the city during the last few days.

The son of the Deputy Mayor behaved in an insolent manner towards Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Shyam when the latter stopped him as part of the special drive to end traffic chaos in the city.

The Deputy Mayor’s son allegedly manhandled the ASI for stopping him to verify his license and other documents while he was going on a two-wheeler. A case was registered against him in One Town police station.

In another incident, Solmon Raju, a constable was caught for driving in an inebriated condition. He behaved in an arrogant manner with the cop who stopped him.

In yet another incident, the son of a government school teacher kicked constable Samad when the latter asked him to show his driving license.Based on a complaint by Samad, a case was registered against the teacher’s son in One Town police station.

Superintendent of Police P Viswaprasad is yet to react on these incidents against the police personnel. However, the traffic police are confident that they will get his full support in their special drive to enhance road safety in the city.
