Mallannasagar protests: Kodandaram held by police

Following the agitation of the Mallannasagar project oustees in Medak district, police resorted to a lathi-charge and opened fire at the protestors but the mob retaliated by attacking the posse of police with stones.

Political JAC Chairman, Prof Kodandaram who was on his way to address the affected farmers on Monday was stopped at Ontimamidi. With the police barring Kondaram's entry, an argument ensued between him and the police who later arrested him. Following the arrest of Prof Kodandaram, the tension broke out in the area with the JAC leaders and the public agitating against the police.
