Hyderabad: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman Chadalawada Krishnamurthy on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for construction of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Banjara Hills.

Speaking on the occasion, the TTD Chairman said the temple, which would be built at a cost of Rs 28 crore, would have all sevas that are being performed at Tirumala, including Nitya Kalyanam.

He said Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu had allocated Rs 28 crore through TTD for the construction of temple and added that there would be no shortage of funds.

A similar temple is under construction in Kurukshetra in Haryana and another temple would be started after January in Kanyakumari, the Chairman informed.

TTD board member and MLA Ch Ramachandra Reddy said the temple is being constructed in an area of 7.5 acre of Ganesh temple land in Banjara Hills and construction would be completed within a year.

TTD member and film director K Raghavendra Rao, actor Rajashekar, BJP official spokesperson Paduri Karuna, Sridhar Reddy and other TTD officials participated in the event.
