Nalgonda: Setting aside the barriers of caste and religion, a Muslim man from Miryalaguda town took a holy dip at one of the pushkar ghats in the district on Wednesday.

Khaja Moinuddin, a native of Muktgagirikunta in Miryalaguda town, has set an example to others by taking the holy bath at Adavidevulapally pushkar ghat during the ongoing river fest.

Speaking to The Hans India, Moinuddin, who came to the ghat along with his Hindu friend, informed that this was the first time he took holy bath during Pushkaralu.

“River festival belongs to all. We shouldn’t restrict ourselves in the name of caste and religion,” he said, further appreciating the officials for the arrangements.

Meanwhile, a huge number of tribals from different hamlets thronged Adavidevulapally and Mudimanikyam pushkar ghats on Wednesday.

Ramana Naik, a tribal, informed that they consider nature as their God and River Krishna which flows by their hamlets as Goddess Krishnamma.

They performed pujas after taking the holy dip.
